Built in 1897 for owner Isaac Samusch on the east side of the Hallettsville square. It was built in the years following a disastrous fire that destroyed many of the wooden buildings on the square. Through the years, this building served as drugstore, doctor's office, hardware store, sporting goods store, and restaurant. As of 2014, it was purchased by Rita, Inc. and is still in use as El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant.
